Sport

Last night Sport (pronounced Spor-tee) beat Vasco in the semi-finals of the Brazilian Cup. It was a big deal. It was the first time in my life that I was actually able to hear 4 million people scream all at once! All of my readers were talking about it today.

Today was very busy for all of us. I got to read with Mario for the first time today. He was one of Missy's readers, that I was lucky enough to receive when she left. He is really sweet. In August, he is planning to go live with his brother in California for a year. His brother is already living in CA in a foreign exchange type program. He wants to play soccer because he will be REALLY good in America :) He and his mother, Christiani will be looking for a church home during their visit, so if anyone knows anyone from the Elk Grove area in California, please let me know.

Today, Luciano (who never fails to brighten my day) told me that I should run for President of the U.S! haha. He said that he would vote for me if he were American. I told him that I would consider it.

When we returned from lunch today, Danny was teaching Daniel and Gilmar how to say "Supercalifragilisticexpialodocious." They were extremely perplexed. Daniel was literally scratching his head. Speaking of lunch, here we are:

This is the place we have lunch each day. It is owned and run by Eneias and Adriana. We LOVE eating there, and look forward to lunch everyday! Look at all that food for the 3 of us! On Fridays we order juice. It's pretty much the best juice I have ever had. This is where we were introduced to Caja juice.

My plate...for those of you who have asked about the kind of food we eat. If I haven't said it before, spaghetti comes with everything here!

Please stop letting me make faces like that in all these pictures. I'm losing my street cred.

Next time, it's the Incredible Hulk face. Grr!

So, you ate spaghetti, mashed potatoes and beans on top of rice? Everyday? I have never seen so many starches on the same plate before ... if that one dish is potatoes.

Sounds like things are going well. Keep up the good work!
